It’s tough being an evil mastermind. It’s lonely, you’re constantly being raided by marauding heroes, and it seems your evil minions don’t know their right from their left. Fortunately, in Castle Doombad: Free to Slay it’s your turn to take control and get rid of those pesky do-gooders. It’s also set to launch very, very soon, on October 28th.
Some of you may remember the original Castle Doombad from 2014. This tower defence saw you take on the role of the evil mastermind trying to stop the good guys from razing your fortress of nastiness. After it went dormant, as many in games do, all hope seemed lost. Until now.
Now, Castle Doombad: Free to Slay sees the devious, unexpected return of the original in true evil mastermind fashion. With remastered graphics and all the content from the original you’ll wield over two dozen minions and traps to stop the do-gooders, all with the promise of future free updates to expand and enhance Castle Doombad further.

We’ll have to wait and see how well Castle Doombad does with the new F2P format. I know many are sceptical about the idea of taking a premium game into the realm of free, especially since there’s the potential for in-app purchases or other charges to impact the experience. Still, either way, it’s good to see another great tower defence game from the past make a return.
