- MiHoYo is set to celebrate the fourth anniversary of its flagship game Genshin Impact
- The new iteration of HoYoFair will showcase fanmade creations from across the world
- It’s the second such showcase this year
Cast your mind back to 2020 and you might have mixed emotions. This was, after all, the time of Covid when we were in new and uncharted territory. For many mobile game companies, these were prime days, before reality came knocking in the past year or so. And it was also when ARPG Genshin Impact hit storefronts, so to celebrate the success of their flagship game developer MiHoYo is set to introduce a new iteration of HoYoFair this September 21st!
Don’t know what a HoYoFair is? It’s basically a showcase of fanmade creations dedicated to the popular open-world game. It includes musical performances, animations and more, all produced by dedicated followers of the game. Spanning over 300 creators and two hours in length, it’s more than double the runtime of the Spring iteration of HoYoFair.
MiHoYo have a lot to be thankful for, especially given that Genshin Impact precipitated the launches of their two follow-ups Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, both of which have become huge successes in their own right.
Hold my HoYoFair
Whatever you can say about gacha games, you can’t deny that they manage to pull people in. And although people love to joke about Genshin (myself included, at least towards some of my friends who are players) it’s a massive success for a reason. That and I think there is something nice about showcasing what fans have made on the world stage to hopefully give talented creators some worthwhile exposure.
