Hill Climb Racing 2 teams up with Bomberman for major new collaboration

Hill Climb Racing 2, the hit racer from Fingersoft, is set to break new ground with its first collaboration. This time it’ll be a team-up with Konami to bring hit retro character Bomberman to the game, who’ll feature as an exclusive costume alongside some suitably explosive elements from September 25th to October 2nd.

Those of you of a certain age probably won’t remember Bomberman all that well, but he was one of Konami’s early mascots back in the days of arcade gaming. He also got a minor resurgence in popularity with the release of Switch launch, Super Bomberman R (which this collab also promotes the sequel to), and now it seems he’s joining other Konami characters like those from Contra in making the jump to other games.

Aside from a brief YouTube shorts trailer, we don’t have much more information on what the collaboration entails. Only that it’ll include a Bomberman costume and other features to fit the explosive gameplay of the original. So you’ll just have to jump in for yourself and find out!

Running up that hill

It seems as if there’s been a recent flurry of collaborations on mobile, even more than usual, and especially from studios you wouldn’t normally expect it from. Supercell for example has recently announced the start of their new collaboration with Transformers, and this latest move by Fingersoft breaks new ground. A more cynical person might say that difficult times for the mobile game industry have driven these deals as a way to keep fans intrigued.
