- Honor of Kings: World has unveiled new gameplay after a short hiatus
- It was showcased at the recent Apple Event for September
- The event also confirmed Honor of Kings: World would be arriving sometime in 2025
While it’s been radio silent for a while, Honor of Kings: World has resurfaced on perhaps the biggest stage imaginable as new gameplay debuted at Apple’s own tech showcase. As part of the event’s gaming segment for the upcoming iPhone 16, we got our first glimpse of Honor of Kings: World since their last trailer almost a year ago.
Set in the, well, world of Honor of Kings, Honor of Kings: World takes players on an RPG adventure that crosses the length and breadth of their setting. Taking place in a mythologised version of China, I’d assume it features the same mix of pseudo-historical characters and legendary individuals the main game does.
You can spot the gameplay in the showcase below at about the one-hour and five-minute mark. Although it’s nothing too unusual compared to what we’ve seen before, we do get a surreptitious confirmation that Honor of Kings: World is coming to iPhone in 2025, no word on other platforms of course.
Game over?
One thing that I think has been missed with the recent long-standing debate about Black Myth: Wukong is something I’d relate to Honor of Kings: World, which is that it seems Chinese players are hankering for a premium game without the freemium. And while Honor of Kings: World definitely looks like it’ll offer some gorgeous graphics, I do wonder whether it can stand out now that player’s preferences have been whetted.
