- Merge Match March is a new twist on the merge formula that may just be the freshest take yet
- In this game you play as a hero leading an army of warriors, merging them to create stronger units
- Use unique abilities to turn the tide of battle and command a variety of troops
As far as “fusion” type games go, I thought I’d seen it all. That was until I was introduced to today’s topic with Merge Match March. As you might expect, this is another merge puzzler. But before you go rolling your eyes, you might want to see what it’s mixed with, as Merge Match March brings a new twist on the formula with the addition of major RPG mechanics!
Yes, if you’ve ever seen an advert for games that boast of how you can merge troops to duke it out, and been disappointed, then this is the game for you. Because in Merge Match March, developer ZOO has combined merging with strategic battles, as you merge your units to upgrade them and produce higher-level troops before having your own hero lead them into battle.
As with many other RPGs, you’ll be able to use your heroes’ abilities to turn the tide of battle, all while commanding a variety of troops with unique abilities. Take a look at the trailer below to get a taste of what Merge Match March has to offer! And if you’re eager to get to grips, you won’t have to wait long as Merge Match March launches September 26th on the iOS App Store and Google Play!
Left, right, left
I admit, when I spotted this title in our editorial pool, I was prepared for another average merge game. Nothing bad, but nothing to blow my socks off either. And while I may not be head over heels for Merge Match March, it’s definitely piqued my interest by combining the usually less action-packed merge genre with something a bit more tactical.
