2K have announced that their upcoming sports sim NBA 2K25: MyTeam will launch November 29th, the end of this month. Pre-registration starts today on iOS and Android for this new take on NBA 2K25 that you can bring on the go with you. So let’s dig in and find out what’s included!
As you might expect, NBA 2K25: MyTeam focuses on letting you build your own dream lineup of top NBA stars. You’ll be able to take your dream team into brand new modes like single-player Breakout and multiplayer Showdown. The former lets you pit your team against opponents in Triple Threat 3v3, Clutch Time 5v5 or shortened Full Lineup matches to earn rewards.
Showdown meanwhile lets you take your personally curated NBA lineup and pit it against others to earn MyTeam Rep. That’s alongside top visuals and sports simulator gameplay that lets you dodge and weave around the court just like the pros.

I think if there’s anything we can take away from the NBA’s recent efforts in mobile, it’s that sports fans don’t really want AR experiences like the recently-shuttered NBA All-World which petered out rather non-climactically. I don’t think that’s necessarily a surprise for most people, but it does indicate where we’ll see sports games going in future as experimentation clearly isn’t as rewarding as just sticking with a format that people are familiar with.
