After first hitting mobile in 2022, and releasing over 20 years ago, OGame is set to celebrate a massive 22nd anniversary in its latest update. Gameforge’s enduring flagship takes players into a world of MMO battles, aiming to conquer a living galaxy, opposed or aided by a massive player base.
The new Profile & Achievements update does just what it says on the tin, bringing personalised profiles to the world of OGame. You’ll be able to craft your own personal profile to show other players, collect achievements for both the overall game and in seasons, as well as compete in a global ranking system.
The best part? All of these achievements and cosmetic rewards from them are recognised cross-server, meaning you carry your progression with you wherever you go, and can show off your veterancy no matter where you stand in the current battle.
To war
While the new update is definitely quite interesting, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s somewhat disappointing for some given it’s purely based on cosmetics and achievements. But at the same time the 22nd anniversary, although impressive is not quite the milestone something like a quarter-century would be. The decision to recognise achievements and other profile activity cross-server I’m sure might get a mixed reaction given it doesn’t let you wholly start over, but I’m sure there’ll equally be a decidedly excited group of players too.
