Regular readers of Pocket Gamer will be aware that we released a brand new website called PocketGamer.fun. It’s a site we’ve made in collaboration with domain specialists Radix, intending to help you find your next favourite game quickly.
So, if you’re looking for distilled recommendations, head over to the site, be greeted with dozens of great games and download any that take your fancy. Alternatively, if you’re happy with a little more reading, we’ll regularly post articles like this one to update you on what we’ve posted on the site in the last week or so.
Simulate a whole new life
Up until a few years ago, I always assumed simulators were boring. Why would I want to do something menial when I could be carving up bad guys? Then I played PowerWash Simulator and SnowRunner. Both gave me a new appreciation for how surprisingly absorbing sims can be and there’s a great deal of variety within the genre – it’s not all trudging through mud or blasting cars with water. That variety exists on mobile too, so check out our latest picks on PocketGamer.fun if you’re looking to try out a second job virtually.
Check out some great picks from Apple Arcade
Since releasing in 2019, Apple Arcade has become home to some excellent mobile games, and it’s high time we celebrated that. Of course, with hundreds of options in its ever-growing library, it’s impossible to highlight every fantastic title on the subscription service. However, this is a good starting point if that huge number is a little off-putting – choice paralysis is a big thing, after all. So, if you’re new to Apple Arcade, our latest picks are an excellent place to start.
Game of the Week
Spooky Pixel Hero
With October, and therefore Halloween, just around the corner, you might want to start getting into the scary season spirit. If so, a great place to start is AppSir’s Spooky Pixel Hero, the latest entry in their horror platforming series that includes the excellent DERE Vengeance. While arguably not as good as its predecessor, it’s still worth your time, as Shah noted in his Spooky Pixel Hero review.
