- Hide pineapples sneakily in the car or in your bully’s bedroom
- Based on an allegedly true Reddit story
If you’re tired of ignoring your bullies and want to do something about it, allow me to point you towards a delicious tropical fruit – Pineapples! As weird as that may sound, it’s based on an allegedly true story. And now this tale has been transformed into a game by Patrones & Escondites called Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge.
We covered Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge back in April when it was first announced after being showcased at GDC 2024. The title is a puzzler and a story-revenge-driven game where you pull pranks on the school’s biggest bully, becoming a hero in school.
This game is apparently based on a true (can’t really confirm that) Reddit story where an anonymous user got back at his bully by placing a pineapple in all possible places to harass him. The puzzler tasks you to do exactly that – strategically position the fruit in unexpected and personal spaces to strike fear into the heart of your bully.
There are a lot of weird spaces where you can achieve this task, such as their car and even their bedroom. If you’re willing to go far, then you can even organise a blind date for them. Imagine what it would feel like to see your date turn out to be an annoying pineapple.

A few weeks ago, the developers dropped the release date trailer for the game. And now this has been followed up by a series of gameplay videos, each teaching you how to exact your revenge. Do remember though – these videos are all walkthroughs for various levels, so avoid them if you don’t want any hints.
Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge is set to release on iOS, Android, and PC on September 26th, with a Nintendo Switch version to release later this fall. You can check out the Steam page for more information.
