- Plants Survival is a brand-new tower-defence strategy game
- It’s out in soft launch right now in a variety of territories including the UK and US
- Does it seem a little bit, er, familiar?
Well, it’s now very much winter, and as the nights draw in earlier and earlier, I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re all at a bit of a loose end. Fortunately, the one good thing about mobile is that there’s a continuous stream of new releases that are out there for you to play! Like today’s subject, Plants Survival, in soft launch for Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the UK and US.
It’s a pretty standard tower defence where you must assist a man named Bill in fighting off hordes of zombies. Deploy plants to blast them down, gather sunlight to upgrade them and erm, this all sounds a bit familiar, right? Well, either way, you go on to upgrade your plants and take on larger and larger hordes.
Promising multiplayer and endless squad combinations to pair up your plants with, Plants Survival looks as if it’ll be a pretty well-formed offering.

Look, let’s not sugarcoat it, this is definitely a game that’s cribbing more than a little from other releases. Whether it’s Crazy Uncle Dave or the suspiciously Fall Guys-like plants. At this point, it looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen, which I suppose is all the more reason to engage your morbid curiosity and take a look to see how it plays. And from what gameplay I’ve seen it looks surprisingly competent, which makes the familiar designs all the more bizarre.
