- Tetris is coming to Fortnite! Well, sort of
- It’s an unofficial experience from PlayStudios, the folks who made the official Tetris app
- In collab with Color Climb! the experience will get a Tetris-themed makeover
Since the introduction of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite, we’ve seen fans on virtually all platforms enjoy creating their own personalised experiences. But it’s not just regular players, as several companies have also seen the advantages of this new platform. The latest to do so are PlayStudios, the folks behind the official Tetris app, who are bringing the iconic Tetriminos to an existing experience in Color Climb for a limited-time collaboration in partnership with Cherry Pick Talent.
It’s not just for appearance’s sake either. Players on the official PlayStudios Tetris app can also get the chance to qualify for a $10k tournament in Colour Climb, which is a parkour game that has players leap across coloured blocks. While no big names have been announced yet, PlayStudios say that qualifying players will get the chance to compete against big-name streamers and influencers.
And in case you’re not aware of what a Tetrimino is, it’s apparently what they call the coloured blocks in Tetris. Oh, and don’t worry because the Tetris theme song will also be included. It’s good timing too as the Epic Games Store has only just made an appearance on mobile, letting players once more officially access the hit battle royale.

Personally, I’ve never been able to tell the difference between various kinds of falling blocks in games. So if you’re the kind of person who can tell your generic blocks from a Tetrimino, then I bow to your superior knowledge.
