Rainbow Six Mobile is still in the works, with new roadmap laying out path to worldwide launch

[ad_1]

  • Rainbow Six Mobile is NOT dead
  • A new roadmap has outlined the path to launch for the FPS
  • Things are far from certain but we now have a path to a global launch

Well, if you were under the impression that Rainbow Six Mobile was quietly slipping into the background, you’d be wrong. I certainly didn’t expect it, but a new roadmap has just been released outlining a (hopeful) path to a worldwide launch. Rainbow Six Mobile previously paused the rollout of new territories and features in March, so this is a well-timed confirmation things are still going.

The update was shared exclusively with Rainbow Six Mobile’s subreddit and outlines three phases for the game ahead of a worldwide launch. These are Technical Test, Engagement Test and Transitioning to Global Launch.

Essentially, this means that the developers will start testing out a host of new features and technical improvements that have been added to Rainbow Six Mobile. After that, they’ll look at how well these changes engage players, before finally moving on to the submission of the final build to Google and Apple.

Stack up

Those are the broad strokes, of course, and while it’s heartening to see that Rainbow Six Mobile is still being worked on, I’d caution that it’s far from certain that it’ll see the light of day. Not that it’s unlikely to release, but it’s clear that after a significant pause in development earlier this year, the folks working on R6M are still a ways off, and given how turbulent this year has been for Ubisoft it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s still in stormy waters.
