Solo Leveling: Arise, the top ARPG from Netmarble based on the hit Korean webtoons series, is introducing a major new update. The First Grand Update not only introduces more of the series’ storyline but also a major new boss in the form of Baran, The Demon King. There are also additional in-game improvements, two new hunters and more. So let’s dig in!
First, for those not in the know, Solo Leveling: Arise is based on the Korean manhwa series of the same name, following a notoriously weak demon hunter named Sung Jinwoo in a world overrun by the fiends. After narrowly escaping death he’s gifted the opportunity to become the only person who can improve the usually ingrained skills of a demon hunter.
The next update expands the storyline, which follows the manhwa, introducing Baran as a new boss. There’s also the introduction of Harper and her sister Charlotte, both dark-element type SSR characters, a tank and mage respectively. Harper is available today while Charlotte arrives September 19th.

I have to dispense with my usual peanut gallery chicanery down here to list what else is included. There are new exclusive weapons for the Harper and Charlotte being introduced, while Sung Jinwoo’s max level has fittingly been extended. You can also experience new Instance Dungeons and Encore missions, as well as enhancements to Battlefield of Time Mode, Power of Destruction mode and the Guild System! Phew, no wonder they’re calling this a “grand” update!
