Stardew Valley fans have an early Christmas present, as the most recent update has arrived. Bringing parity with 1.6 of the main version, it adds a host of new content that’s sure to bring you even more hours of playtime with the hit farming sim. But what’s actually included? Let’s have a brief look.
First off, the new festivals, the Desert Festival, Trout Derby and SquidFest all add new dates to an already packed calendar. Next up, a new farm type with the Meadowlands and new pet breeds to populate it! A host of new items, alongside seasonal decorations, waterfalls, winter outfits for NPCs and even more.
Finally, there’s the new mechanics as skill books make their debut, alongside fish frenzies, a new late-game mastery systems and new mine layouts. And all of this is only scratching the surface of new content, not to mention some performance updates and quality-of-life improvements.
Sweet and dewy
Stardew Valley being considered good is not exactly revolutionary journalism, I know. Practically everyone has sung its praises, and while it’s not clear when or whether this new update will hit Android I wouldn’t be surprised if we see that cleared up shortly. Personally speaking, I’ve never found the time to jump properly into Stardew Valley, but having put off playing it on mobile, maybe now’s the time for me to properly take the plunge.
