Practice common vocabulary, tones and accents while watching a huge library of popular shows from around the world. Dive into thousands of movies, TV shows, interviews and presentations and if you're not sure about a word you come across, just tap on the subtitle to instantly get a definition in your own language.
• A movie or video streamed in Woodpecker can have two subtitle streams playing simultaneously. For example, one in English and one in Chinese.
• Tap a word in a subtitle stream to see possible meanings in your language. Tap a word or character in your own language to get the definition in the language you are learning
• To improve your listening skills, you can replay a single sentence continuously, rewind five seconds to repeat the content, and play the video at a slower speed. Tap the timestamp of a subtitle to jump to that point in the video.
• Improve your English with over 450 YouTube channels featuring English audio and subtitles. Many of these channels also offer subtitle streams in other languages.
• Dive into Mandarin with over 80 channels and playlists featuring over 15,000 videos. Over 500 of these videos also have a second stream of English subtitles.
