Z-Table Application
Z-Table is an application for rapid diagnosis of malnutrition.
It can be used anywhere and by anyone (community relays, health workers, mothers or babysitters who want to know the nutritional status of their children).
The application consists of two parts:
A first part aimed at detecting malnutrition;
A second part based on the calculation of the BMI.
1-The Z score:
It is based on the z score table (WHO 2006).
It is applicable to children and adolescents measuring between 45 and 170 cm.
Its interpretation is easy and does not require any knowledge of the Z score. You will find the three colors of the “Shakir” bracelet used during the community test:
-Red means severe malnutrition;
-moderate yellow malnutrition;
-Green a satisfactory nutritional status (normal).
Here the only requirements are careful weighing and measuring of size.
2-The IMC part:
It allows you to calculate the body mass index from weight and height. It works at any age!
The colors draw attention to different body types.
